NWA Business EXPO

Tuesday, August 12, 2014, I had the privilege of attending the NWA Business EXPO, organized by the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce.  It was from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers, Arkansas.  What a surprising treat!  I must say, I didn’t know what to expect when I arrived.  However, right from the main entrance, the EXPO was well-organized and informational.  I brought plenty of business cards and began networking immediately.  Everyone I met was open and pleasant.  The event had four seminars and a main room of booths from local businesses and sponsors.  The “seminar” I enjoyed the most was called G60 or Gone in 60 Seconds Elevator Pitch Contest.  Approximately 20 contestants got on stage and had 60 seconds to convince the audience why their start-up business deserved a $1,000 check.  Two in particular caught my interest.  1. Lynxus, a Social News Ap. You request a location and instantly someone at that location will let you observe it live! It is kind of like YouTube only Real-Time!  It has elements that remind me of Lyft.com.  2. Trec-Solar, a mobile, solar-powered water purifier which can make any water source drinkable.  I wish we could have it for Iraq and Syria right now! And always a shout out for The Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, a 459- acre wildlife refuge for abused, abandoned, and neglected big cats, bears, etc. located near Eureka Springs, AR.

I will be putting EXPO 2015 on my To Do List.
